    What it means

Literally “to pee on it.” This is a very popular, highly colloquial slang term used to say that you don’t care about something or that you are going to ignore it. While slightly crude in its literal sense, it is used by almost everyone in informal speech to express a “forget it” or “whatever” attitude.

    Vocabulary

    • olać — to pee on / to ignore (slang)
    • lekceważyć — to disregard (formal version)
    • mniejsza — never mind

    Grammar note

The verb 'olać' is perfective. If you want to say you "usually" ignore things, you would use the imperfective 'olewać'. 'To' is the accusative direct object.

    Cultural context

Although based on a bodily function, 'olać' is not considered "profanity" in the same way the F-word is, but it is still too informal for a business meeting or a classroom.
